2018 CT Blues Society Band Challenge Winner! Jake Kulak and the LowDown are headed to Memphis in January 2019 to compete in the International Blues Challenge.
"Better", the first single off of my upcoming album, has been chosen as a semi-finalist in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition, "the songwriting competition to take note of", according to The New York Times.

Jake Kulak and the LowDown have been nominated for 'Best New Act' for the 2017 New England Music Awards!
Jake Kulak and the LowDown to open for the Balkun Brothers at the historic Iridium in New York City
Jake Kulak and the LowDown one of six Boston-area bands selected to participate in the House of Blues Boston "Bringin' Down the House" national emerging artist competition. All six bands will do a show at House of Blues Boston on April 26th.
Jake Kulak was one of 30 youths selected to participate in the Band Seminar at the Notodden Blues Festival in Norway, one of Europe's largest blues festivals. In addition to playing with his fellow participants at the Festival, he performed in two festival workshops: one with Pat Morgan, of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation of which he has been a Guitar Masterclass participant for the past 4 summers; and one with legendary blues guitarist Bob Margolin, called "Remembering Muddy Waters." To cap off a great festival, Jake also performed with Bob during his festival appearance.
