Jake Kulak and the LowDown were selected to participate in the House of Blues, Bringin' Down the House - a national emerging artist program. We were 1 of 6 Boston- area bands chosen to participate. We will be playing a show at House of Blues in Boston on April 26th starting at 7 pm.
Just returned from Norway where it was some incredible blues at the Notodden Blues Festival. Approximately 30 youths were selected to participate in the Band Seminar at Notodden and I was floored by all the talent of my fellow musicians. We had some great Blues musicians visit us and jam with us, most notably Little Steven. The program culminated in a concert that was attended by a huge and enthusiastic crowd. Also, while at Notodden I got a chance to perform in two workshops. In the first, I joined Pat Morgan, the President of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation, and Bob Margolin, a member of Muddy Water's band, in discussing The Pinetop Perkins Foundation, a program I have participated in over the last 3 years. I also was thrilled to perform with Bob Margolin in another workshop entitled "Remembering Muddy Waters". Bob also invited me on stage during one of his performances at Notodden which made for a very memorable night. Thank you to my many Blues friends - old and new - who made Notodden 2015 an unforgettable experience!!
